Maksim & Hope On Why They Showed A Softer Side On Dancing

First Published: November 8, 2011 4:59 PM EST Credit: ABC LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Caption Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy on Dancing with the Stars, Nov. 8, 2011Maksim Chmerkovskiy showed off a softer side on Monday nights Dancing with the Stars as the program featured footage of the professional dancer having a nice family meal with his partner, Hope Solo, and the two said it was all on purpose. Have you seen the seven weeks of our packages? It was all negativity lots of curse words, me kicking the wall, us being very physical and intense, and thats not really fair to our fans, Hope told Access Hollywood on Monday night after DWTS. This is a dance show, and people want to see you happy and having fun. Were competitors, so we got really intense. Maks noted, however, that the intensity is real. Its not a line, Maks added. Were still intense about wanting to do well in this competition. We kind of did not take into consideration that theres cameras in the room. A lot of things that we understand between each other, people dont, because theyre not with us, Maks continued. They just see a little snippet. We just had to be a little politically correct, but once again, we are incapable of putting on a show as far as acting were not lying to anybody. DWTS continues on Tuesday at 8/7 C on ABC.
